9-Year-Old Abdelkarim Alhazaymeh Dies in 3-Car Crash on Highway 50 near 59th Street

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 24, 2023) — Abdelkarim Alhazaymeh died in a three-car crash on Highway 50 near 59th Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly multi-car accident happened around 6:40 p.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, a 19-year-old female driver of a Mazda switched lanes and struck the front end of a Toyota, driven by a 52-year-old man. Subsequently, the Mazda careered to the left before traveling out of control to the right where it sideswiped a Honda two lanes over. The impact caused the Honda to overturn on the 59th Street on-ramp.
 
A 9-year-old boy not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the Honda and died in the accident. Officials from the coroner’s office identified him as Abdelkarim Alhazaymeh.
 
Everyone else suffered minor injuries in the crash.
