70-Year-Old Woman Dies after Two Vehicles Collide on Olde Highway 80 in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (May 24, 2023) – Marilynn Asch was killed in a two-vehicle accident in El Cajon earlier this month on May 3.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 1:00 p.m. on Olde Highway 80 near Soldin Lane. According to the CHP, Asch was driving an Infiniti sedan northbound on Soldin Lane when she collided with another vehicle traveling westbound on Olde Highway 80.
 
As a result, Asch suffered serious injuries and was found unresponsive. She was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, including a surgical intervention.
 
Asch’s health continued to decline while in the hospital. She was pronounced dead by medical personnel on May 16 around 1:00 a.m. Her cause of death was described as blunt force injury. She was a 70-year-old El Cajon resident, according to the San Diego Department of the Medical Examiner.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
