Pedestrian Suffers Major Injuries after Hit by Car on Day Street in Moreno Valley

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (April 16, 2023) – One person was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Day Street in Moreno Valley late Friday evening on April 14.
 
The accident happened around 11:22 p.m. just south of Box Springs Road. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Moreno Valley Station, the victim was seen running eastbound across Day Street when the driver of a white Volkswagen Passat attempted but failed to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
 
Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a hospital with major but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
At this time, it is unknown whether alcohol or reckless driving played a factor in the crash.
