Bicyclist Seriously Injures Elderly Man Standing in Bike Lane on North Torrey Pines Road

 
TORREY PRESERVE, CA (February 9, 2023) – An 85-year-old man was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on North Torrey Pines Road in the Torrey Preserve neighborhood on February 4.
 
The man was in the southbound bike lane in the 13000 block of North Torrey Pines Road around 9:47 a.m. when a 63-year-old man riding his bicycle struck him, according to the San Diego Police Department.
 
As a result, the pedestrian sustained a fractured skull and a brain bleed. His injuries are considered life threatening. The bicyclist sustained a laceration above his left eye.
 
San Diego Police are investigating and encourage anyone with additional information to call 888-580-8477.
