Jose Escobedo Dies, Jose Cordero Uninjured in Semi-Truck Crash on Slover Avenue at Willow Avenue

 
RIALTO, CA (January 24, 2023) — Jose Escobedo died in a big rig accident on Slover Avenue at Willow Avenue.
 
According to Rialto Police, the fatal semi-truck crash happened on January 20 around 3:03 a.m. For reasons that require investigation, 26-year-old Jose Escobedo struck the rear side of a semi-truck making a left turn onto westbound Slover Avenue.
 
Escobedo, the Bloomington man operating the eastbound Nissan along Slover Avenue, died from his injuries at the scene. Soon after, paramedics found the 31-year-old semi-truck driver, Jose Cordero of Palmdale, unharmed.
 
Authorities have not confirmed the leading cause of the crash. However, physical evidence at the scene indicates that Escobedo was speeding before the impact. If anyone has more information, please call Traffic Sergeant Dan Smith at (909) 644-6025.
