Pedestrian, Driver Dead in Crash on Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights

 
CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (January 24, 2023) — A pedestrian and a driver were killed in an accident on Auburn Boulevard near Cobalt Way Sunday night.
 
According to the Citrus Heights Police, officers received a call around 7:45 p.m. about a head-on collision and a pedestrian being hit.
 
Upon arriving, officers found a deceased pedestrian on the road who was reportedly hit by a speeding car. The speeding car subsequently struck a second vehicle in a head-on fashion, sending that driver into a brick barrier of a neighborhood.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to the scene and brought both drivers to a hospital where the second driver died. The first driver suffered mild to moderate injuries.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the leading cause of the crash or revealed the victims’ names, but an ongoing investigation should confirm the details.
