1 Killed after Collision with Tree on Old 44 Drive near Twin Avenue

 
MILLVILLE, CA (December 13, 2022) – A driver died after a tree fell on a car on Old 44 Drive, Saturday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on December 10, at about 4:05 p.m. A beige 2002 Ford Excursion was traveling westbound on Old 44 when a tree fell on top of the SUV.
 
The driver lost control and slammed into another tree near Twin Avenue.
 
Emergency crews transported the driver and a 13-year-old girl to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment of major injuries. As per reports, the driver was later pronounced dead.
 
Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Investigators believe that stormy conditions caused the tree to fall.
 
CHP continues to investigate the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
