Four Hurt in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 65 and Avenue 56

 
DUCOR, CA (December 12, 2022) — Several people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 65 on Wednesday, December 7.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers received reports of a crash at around 1:22 p.m. on Highway 65 and Avenue 56.
 
CHP said a 46-year-old from Porterville drove a 2011 Dodge Nitro with three minor passengers southbound on Highway 65. The vehicle approached a red light at Avenue 56 at 55 mph.
 
Simultaneously, officers said a 39-year-old from Earlimart drove a 2018 Toyota Camry with one passenger eastbound on Avenue 56. It approached a green light on Highway 65 at an unknown speed.
 
CHP officials said that due to inattention, the driver of the Dodge did not stop at the red light. As it entered the intersection, it went directly into the path of the Toyota. The front of the Dodge then crashed into the driver’s side of the Toyota.
 
Medics airlifted the driver of the Toyota to the Kern Medical Center. In addition, paramedics also rushed a passenger in the Toyota with moderate injuries to Sierra View Medical Center.
