One Dead, Two Others Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on 15 Freeway [Nipton, CA]

Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on 15 Freeway near Yates Will Road

 
NIPTON, CA (August 22, 2022) — One person died and two others were hurt in a multi-vehicle accident on 15 Freeway on Friday, August 19.
 
Officials received reports of the crash on northbound 15 Freeway just after Yates Will Road exit at around 3:51 p.m. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters responded to the scene.
 
According to CHP, a silver Nissan Maxima with major front-end damage and a gray unknown make and model sedan with heavy front-end damage were involved in the crash. The last vehicle was a Maroon Jeep Cherokee with rear-end damage.
 
Firefighters gave medical aid to the people involved in the incident and reported one person died at the scene. In addition, they asked for one medical helicopter and one ambulance to transport injured victims.
 
The ambulance rushed a child to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. Meanwhile, Mercy Air #7 landed at the scene. It airlifted another victim to Las Vegas University Medical Center in undetermined condition.
 
CHP has not yet released the cause of the incident or the identity of the victims.
