Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Pickup Truck on Alessandro Boulevard in Moreno Valley

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (August 22, 2022) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Alessandro Boulevard in Moreno Valley on Friday evening, August 19.
 
The accident happened around 8:34 p.m. near Elsworth Street. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the male pedestrian was pushing a shopping cart southbound across the street when a 2019 Toyota Tacoma struck him.
 
Authorities said the driver attempted to stop, but struck the pedestrian when he crossed in front of the truck.
 
First responders found the pedestrian lying in the roadway without a pulse and suffering from traumatic life-threatening injuries.
 
The unidentified victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Sheriff’s officials said drugs and/or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway
