Angelo Yescas Injured in Speeding Car Crash on Highway 70 [Oroville, CA]

18-Year-Old Angelo Yescas Hurt in High-Speed Accident on Highway 70 near Grizzly Dome Tunnel

 
OROVILLE, CA (August 17, 2022) — 18-year-old Angelo Yescas of Rio Lindo suffered injuries in a speeding car crash on Friday, August 12.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, Yescas traveled westbound in an Acura TL on Highway 70 just west of the Grizzly Dome Tunnel at around 9:30 p.m.
 
CHP said a witness estimated Yescas’ speed just before the incident at 80-100 mph. While she navigated a right-hand corner, she lost control of the Acura. Then she veered to the right and crashed with a metal guardrail on the north shoulder.
 
Afterward, the Acura continued out of control across both lanes. Then it crashed into a rock/concrete barrier on the south shoulder. The impact of the collision caused the Acura to roll over onto its roof.
 
A passerby called 911 and several bystanders pulled Yescas from the vehicle. They remained with him until emergency personnel arrived.
 
Yescas wore his seatbelt at the time of the crash. However, he still sustained major injuries. Medics rushed him by ambulance to a safe landing zone. Then they airlifted him to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
