Fatal Head-On Crash on Walerga Road in Antelope

 
ANTELOPE, CA (July 19, 2022) — A driver died in a head-on accident on Walerga Road and Elverta Road on Friday night.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened around 11:00 p.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, a driver operating a Chevrolet Corvette went over a 12-foot center divider and crashed head-on into a northbound Chevrolet Malibu.
 
As a result, the Chevrolet Corvette driver who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected onto the road. That 68-year-old driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
 
Soon after, paramedics brought the 31-year-old Chevrolet Malibu driver to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the primary cause of the accident. However, investigators believe DUI played a part in this accident. If anyone had additional information, please call the CHP.
