Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 134 in Eagle Rock

 
EAGLE ROCK, CA (July 19, 2022) — One person died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 134 near Figueroa Street on Sunday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 11:38 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a gray Hyundai Veloster struck a pedestrian.
 
Soon after, CHP officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed one fatality.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, CHP officers issued a SigAlert shutting down all eastbound lanes of the freeway. At this time, authorities have not confirmed the details. However, the driver informed authorities that he or she thought the vehicle struck a large animal.
