Pedestrian Suffers Injuries after Hit by Car on East Palm Canyon Drive in Cathedral City

 
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (July 19, 2022) – A 74-year-old man was injured in a pedestrian accident on East Palm Canyon Drive in Cathedral City late Thursday evening, July 14.
 
The accident happened around 10:41 p.m. just east of Cree Road. According to the Cathedral City Police Department, the Palm Springs man was walking in the area when a vehicle struck him.
 
The Cathedral City Fire Department crews responded to the scene and found the man lying in the roadway. They provided medical aid to him, whom officers said smelled of alcohol.
 
Paramedics then took the man to Desert Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
 
The female driver was not injured and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
 
Witnesses stated the driver was driving the speed limit, while maintaining her lane of travel.
 
Police are still investigating the accident.
