Andres Espinoza Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run DUI Accident on Highway 101 near Main Street

 
SALINAS, CA (June 29, 2022) — Officials arrested 20-year-old Andres Roque Espinoza following a hit-and-run DUI crash on Saturday, June 25.
 
This accident happened northbound on Highway 101, north of Main Street at 3:17 a.m.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 41-year-old man drove their 2002 Dodge Ram north on Highway 101. Then Espinoza came up behind him and struck the rear of his vehicle.
 
The impact of the crash caused the Dodge to rotate and roll over toward the right shoulder.
 
Medics gave treatments to the 41-year-old. However, he still died of sustained injuries on the scene.
 
Reports said Espinoza did not stop driving his Subaru and fled. CHP eventually arrested him and they believe drugs and alcohol contributed to the crash.
 
According to CHP, medics brought Espinoza to the hospital for minor injuries resulting from the incident.
