Catherine Glidewill, Simeon Zuniga Involved in Car Crashes Due to Brush Fire on Highway 99 [Corning, CA]

Simeon Zuniga and Catherine Glidewill Uninjured in Corning Car Accident

 
CORNING, CA (June 28, 2022) — Catherine Glidewill and Simeon Ruiz Zuniga escaped injury in a two-car crash due to a brush fire on Highway 99 at Liberal Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a series of accidents happened around 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Due to low visibility as a result of a vegetation fire, 48-year-old Glidewill slowed down to navigate through a plume of smoke.
 
Subsequently, an oncoming 2007 Toyota Highlander, driven by 63-year-old Zuniga, was unable to see her 2018 Mitsubishi and rear-ended her vehicle.
 
Fortunately, neither driver nor the two passengers in Zuniga’s vehicle reported any injuries.
 
Following that accident, a second crash ensued. Due to low visibility from the smoke, another vehicle rear-ended a southbound car near Sourgrass Road. Like the first accident, authorities reported no injuries in this one.
 
CalFire, Tehama County Fire and Corning Volunteer Fire responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, which left no damage to nearby structures.
