Wrong-Way Driver Dies after Colliding Head-On with Another Car in Redding

 
REDDING, CA (June 13, 2022) – Randall James Lewis was killed in a head-on accident on 5 Freeway in Redding Friday evening on June 10.
 
The accident happened around 9:18 p.m. just north of Market Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, Lewis was driving southbound when he crossed into the northbound lane of the freeway. He then collided head-on with another car, driven by 51-year-old Devyn Zeno Lewis of Shasta Lake.
 
The impact forced Devyn Lewis’ car to the right, where it crashed into a third car driven by 38-year-old Gurtej Singh Sidhu of Clovis.
 
Randall Lewis, a 69-year-old Bella Vista resident, died at the scene.
 
Devyn Lewis suffered major injuries and was taken to Mercy Medical Center. Sidhu did not sustain any injuries from the crash.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor. Further investigation is underway.
