Police Arrest Husband for DUI after Fiery Crash on 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch Killing Wife

 
PORTER RANCH, CA (June 13, 2022)Zeomara Cohen was killed in a fiery accident on 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch late Thursday evening on June 9.
 
The accident happened around 11:50 p.m. at Reseda Boulevard. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a man was driving his wife Cohen and three kids when he lost control of the car and crashed into an embankment. The crash damaged the car’s fuel line, which caused the car to burst into flames.
 
Four off-duty officers saw the crash happened and responded. They were able to rescue the man and the three children.
 
However, the mother died on the scene. Cohen was 31 years old, the CHP said.
 
Paramedics took the husband and children to a hospital in unknown conditions.
 
Following an investigation, officers determined that the husband was impaired at the time of the crash. They arrested and booked him on suspicion of DUI and manslaughter charges.
 
While emergency officials assisted in saving the family, three cars passing by got into a collision. At least two of the people from that collision were injured.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
