1 Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident on Glendora Mountain Road

 
GLENDORA, CA (June 11, 2022) – One person was killed and another was injured in a car accident on Glendora Mountain Road, early Wednesday morning on June 8.
 
The accident happened sometime between midnight and 12:20 a.m. at mile marker 6.51. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Mazda Miata was traveling south when it failed to negotiate a curve. It then veered to the right, went off the roadway and fell 200 to 300 feet.
 
The car became airborne before colliding into the side of the mountain, officials said.
 
The driver, a 21-year-old Diamond Bar man, freed himself from the car, climbed up the mountainside to the road and got help. He sustained abrasions to his face, hands and knees.
 
Firefighters attempted saving the passenger, but the victim died at the scene.
 
The coroner’s office has not yet publicly identified victim, but described him as a man possibly in his 30s.
 
CHP officials did not rule out alcohol as factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
