MONTEREY, CA (June 3, 2022) — One person died in a car crash with a semi-truck on Highway 193 near Cooper Road on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle accident happened around 1:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Ford Mustang smashed into a semi-truck, lodging the vehicle underneath the trailer.
 
Shortly after, responding authorities found the victim and the car stuck underneath the big rig.
 
At this time, reports did not confirm if the victim died at the scene or a local hospital. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm the leading cause of this crash and the victim’s identity.
