Ana Meraz Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on East Mission Avenue [Merced County, CA]

Two-Vehicle Crash Involving 2 Vehicles on East Mission Avenue, Ana Meraz Identified

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (June 1, 2022) – Ana Meraz died in a two-vehicle accident in Merced County on Sunday morning, May 29.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:29 a.m. on East Mission Avenue at Highway 59. CHP officials said Meraz was in the front right passenger seat of a 2016 Ford Fusion, driven by 31-year-old Andrian Meraz of Madera. The couple’s sons, ages 13 and 4, were in the rear seat.
 
The Ford was traveling westbound on Mission approaching the intersection with Highway 59. For unknown reasons, Adrian Meraz failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
 
A 2017 Toyota Tacoma driven by 49-year-old Reynaldo Vasquez of Santa Cruz, was traveling southbound on Highway 59. It collided with the passenger side of the Ford.
 
As a result, 30-year-old Merced resident Ana Meraz suffered significant injuries. Paramedics rushed her to Merced Medical Center, where she later died, according to the Merced County Sheriff Coroner’s Office.
 
Meanwhile, Adrian Meraz, Vasquez and the juveniles sustained minor injuries.
 
Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
