Accident on Elkhorn Boulevard in North Highlands Leaves Pedestrian with Major Injuries

 
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (June 1, 2022) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident at Elkhorn Boulevard and Thomas Drive in North Highlands on Monday evening.
 
The accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. on May 30. According to the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles were traveling toward each other on Elkhorn Boulevard. The vehicle traveling eastbound made a left turn attempting to get onto Thomas Drive, then collided with the other vehicle.
 
The impact of the crash caused the turning vehicle to go up onto the curb and strike the pedestrian, who is an employee at the Jimboy’s Tacos located at that intersection.
 
Arriving paramedics rushed the pedestrian to Mercy San Juan Medical Center with major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, both drivers sustained minor injuries in the crash.
 
Investigators said traffic cameras at the intersection need to be reviewed to determine the cause and liability.
