Good Samaritan Rescues 2 People after Car Crashes into Pool on Ellingham Street in Rancho Peñasquitos

 
RANCHO PENASQUITOS, CA (May 16, 2022) – A good Samaritan rescued two people from a car accident on Ellingham Street Saturday afternoon on May 14.
 
The critical rescue happened around 1:00 p.m. at 8958 Ellingham Street near Carmel Mountain Road. According to the San Diego Police Department, a BMW had plowed through a fence and landed upside down in a pool
 
The good Samaritan, next-door neighbor, heard the crash, went over to investigate, and ended up pulling the people from the car.
 
The people inside, a man and a woman, were reportedly arguing with each other when the accident happened. The woman driving suddenly veered off the road and into the pool, police said.
 
The woman was unconscious when pulled from the car but the good Samaritan got the water out of her lungs. The male passenger swam out through the passenger window.
 
Police are still trying to see whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
