Michael Lewis Dies in Santa Maria Crash on Highway 101 near Main Street

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (May 16, 2022)Michael James Lewis died in a two-vehicle rollover in Santa Maria on Monday morning, May 9.
 
The accident happened around 9:43 a.m. along Highway 101 near Main Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, Lewis was driving a 2002 Honda CRV in the right lane of the northbound highway. At the same time, 20-year-old Marcos Salazar of Santa Maria was driving a 2007 Nissan 350Z in the left lane.
 
One of the drivers made a sudden lane change, causing the vehicles to collide. The impact caused the Honda to roll over multiple times, crossing the center median and landing on the southbound side of the highway
 
Lewis was rushed to Marian Regional Medical Center, where he later died. He was a 68-year-old Nipomo resident, according to the Sheriff’s-Coroner’s Bureau.
 
Meanwhile, Salazar was not injured in the crash.
 
Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to be factors in the crash.
