Two Killed, One Injured in Car Crash on Fahey Road and Cherokee Road

GUSTINE, CA (March 3, 2022) — Two men died after a car accident on Fahey Road in Merced County on Wednesday, March 2.
 
California Highway Patrol officers said the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Fahey Road and Cherokee Road near the Santa Nella community.
 
Officers said both a Nissan and Honda moved east on Fahey. Then, for undetermined reasons, the driver of the Nissan lost control. It went over the westbound lane and into the north shoulder of Fahey.
 
The Nissan collided into a telephone pole. Both the 17-year-old and 25-year-old man in the vehicle died at the scene. Officers said they did not wear seatbelts.
 
The driver of the Honda also lost control and to the south side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a guardrail and flipped over in a canal. That driver had minor injuries.
