Thomas Page Hurt, Mathew Dick Detained in DUI Crash on Highway 99 at Esplanade

 
CHICO, CA (January 17, 2022) — Thomas Page suffered minor injuries in a DUI accident on Highway 99 at Esplanade on Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig and sedan crash happened around 6:16 a.m. For DUI-related reasons, 31-year-old Mathew Dick failed to stop at the stop sign on Esplanade and drove across Highway 99. As a result, Page’s southbound big rig collided with the left rear of Dick’s Volvo sedan.
 
Subsequently, the Volvo traveled into a ditch while the Walmart semi-truck crashed into a metal building.
 
Following the accident, paramedics treated 60-year-old Page for minor injuries while another team brought Dick to Enloe Medical Center after officers arrested him for suspicion of DUI.
