Fatal Industrial Accident on Mediterranean Way at Port of Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (January 17, 2022) – A worker was killed in an industrial accident on Mediterranean Way at the Port of Long Beach on Saturday afternoon.
 
Around 3:45 p.m. on January 15, Port police officers responded to the 300 block of Mediterranean Way, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
 
When police arrived, they determined that a vehicle struck the worker near a container terminal at the port.
 
The male worker suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
It was not immediately known what type of vehicle struck the worker, officials said.
 
The coroner’s office will release the identity of the victim once next of kin is properly notified.
 
An investigation into this accident is underway.
