Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle while Crossing Kentucky Street in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 12, 2022) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Kentucky Street in East Bakersfield on Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 6:00 a.m. on January 11 near Brown Street. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the woman was walking outside of a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her.
 
When officers arrived, they found the woman in the roadway suffering from major injuries. Life-saving aid was performed, but the victim died at the scene.
 
The name, age and town of residence of the pedestrian were not immediately available.
 
Police said alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation. They asked anyone with further information to call the department at 661-327-7111.
