Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore

 
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (January 11, 2022) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore, late Sunday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 5:40 p.m. on January 9 on the northbound lanes of the freeway just south of Nichols Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was walking along the side of the freeway when a vehicle struck her.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities withheld her identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
At this time, it is unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
An investigation into this fatality is underway.
