Darryl Virostko Unharmed, Woman Jumps Into Ocean after Car Crash on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz
SANTA CRUZ, CA (January 11, 2022) — Darryl “Flea” Virostko became involved in a car accident on Highway 1 that ended with a woman jumping into the ocean on Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 9:00 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a 40-year-old Santa Cruz woman struck the vehicle of big wave surfer Virostko.
Subsequently, the woman exited her vehicle, crossed the highway and fell into the ocean. Moments later, Coast Guard helicopter crews recovered the woman’s body.
At this time, authorities have no clue as to whether the woman jumping had been an accident or not. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
