Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Pickup Truck in Cherry Valley

 
CHERRY VALLEY, CA (December 20, 2021) – David Beltran was killed in a pedestrian accident in Cherry Valley on Thursday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:20 a.m. on December 16 in the 10400 block of Beaumont Avenue near Cherry Valley Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 71-year-old victim from Cherry Valley was trying to cross the street outside of a marked crosswalk when a 1999 GMC Sierra struck him.
 
The driver of the pickup truck, whose identity was not disclosed, immediately stopped and called 911.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Beltran to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley. Despite life-saving efforts, Beltran succumbed to his injuries less than three hours later.
 
The investigation is still ongoing.
