Pedestrian Dies after Hit by Car on Pomelo Drive in Vista

 
VISTA, CA (December 13, 2021) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Pomelo Drive in Vista, Thursday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 9:30 p.m. on December 9 in the 300 block of Pomelo Drive near Hacienda Drive. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of a Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound when they hit the 44-year-old female pedestrian who had walked into the road.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and rushed the woman to Palomar Medical Center, where the unidentified victim later died.
 
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
While investigators do not believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol, they believe the pedestrian was. Further investigation is underway.
