Woman Hospitalized after Bicycle Accident on Sacramento Street near Ashby Avenue

 
BERKELEY, CA (November 29, 2021) — A woman suffered injuries in a bicycle crash on Sacramento Street on Wednesday, November 24.
 
The incident happened just after 1:10 p.m. on northbound Sacramento Street, just north of Ashby Avenue, near Sacramento Market.
 
Several people called BPD to say that the bicyclist was pinned underneath a silver Lexus 470 sedan.
 
The Berkeley Fire Department transported the woman, who had no pulse and was not breathing, to Highland Hospital. Officials later stated that she suffered serious injuries, but she is expected to survive.
 
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
 
Officials temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Sacramento. Police reopened the roadway at around 3:21 p.m.
