Pedestrian with Shopping Cart Struck by Car, Dies on Madison Avenue in North Highlands

 
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (November 23, 2021) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on Madison Avenue in North Highlands, Saturday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:43 p.m. on November 20 at Airbase Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was crossing the roadway with a shopping cart when a black sedan struck him.
 
The impact caused the man significant injuries. His belongings were strewn across the roadway.
 
Arriving paramedics attempted saving the victim, who eventually died at the scene.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police.
 
CHP officials did not rule out alcohol as a factor. This fatal crash remains under investigation.
