Burney Business Owner Robert Watkins Suffers Serious Injuries after Run Over by Car

 
BURNEY, CA (November 8, 2021) – Robert Watkins suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car in Burney Friday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 1:45 p.m. on November 5 at the Precision Lube Express on Enterprise Drive. Watkins was a 63-year-old Burney resident and the owner of the automotive business. He was attempting to guide 80-year-old Karen Bagley of Burney onto a car lift inside the location, when the woman’s SUV struck him.
 
As a result, Watkins suffered two broken legs and other significant injuries.
 
Fire Protection District firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found Watkins down inside the building. They also located the Nissan SUV and Bagley nearby.
 
Paramedics transported Watkins to Mayers in Fall River for further evaluation and treatment. His condition was unknown.
 
Meanwhile, Bagley was unharmed.
 
Neither drug or alcohol intoxication were suspected as contributing factors in the crash. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
