Woman Riding Mobility Scooter Suffers Serious Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Highway 273 in Anderson

 
ANDERSON, CA (November 7, 2021) – A woman suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 273 in Anderson on Thursday evening.
 
The crash happened around 8:21 p.m. on November 4 just north of Bruce Street. According to the Anderson Police Department, the 51-year-old woman was riding a mobility scooter in the bike lane when a car struck her.
 
After the crash, the involved driver initially stopped long enough to drag the woman and her wrecked scooter from the roadway. The suspect then fled the scene before authorities arrived.
 
According to officials, the motorist did not call 911 and offered no medical help or assistance to the victim.
 
As a result of the crash, the woman suffered major injuries.
 
Police described the suspect as a white woman in her 20s in a small white car.
