Two Dies after Semi Truck Rolls Over onto SUV on Avenue 7 in Madera

MADERA COUNTY, CA (November 4, 2021) – Two people were killed in a semi truck accident on Avenue 7 near Road 31 in Madera County on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 4:00 p.m. on November 3. According to the California Highway Patrol, the semi truck pulling two trailers of pomegranates was traveling eastbound when it lost control and drifted onto the right shoulder. When the driver overcorrected, the back end of the trailer flipped over and landed on an SUV that was heading westbound.
 
As a result, both the driver and passenger in the SUV suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Authorities withheld the identities of the victims pending notification of their family members.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi truck only sustained minor injuries.
 
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
