Woman Severely Injury after Bicyclist Hits Pedestrian at 17th Street

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 27, 2021) — A woman faces a long road to recovery after a bicyclist hits a pedestrian at 17th Street and Guerrero Street a month ago.

According to reports, the incident happened about four weeks prior around 10:50 p.m. A woman, identified only by Mary, had just walked her 16-year-old granddaughter home from work. She decided to make the brief trip home walking back to her house.

However, an oncoming bicyclist coming the other way on the sidewalk collided with the 81-year-old woman at the corner. As a result, Mary fell to the ground, hit her head, broke her elbow and shattered her hip.

Meanwhile, the bicyclist contacted her son and tended to her aid before paramedics arrived to treat her.

At this time, Mary faces a long recovery and physical therapy while the liabilities require additional investigation. Although, witnesses with further insight should contact the San Francisco Police Department.
