Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Lucknow Avenue in Red Bluff, Driver Randy Aspillaga Involved

 
RED BLUFF, CA (October 13, 2021) – A man was killed in pedestrian accident on Lucknow Avenue in Red Bluff Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:40 p.m. on October 11, just south of Dunvin Court near the center of the roadway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 69-year-old Red Bluff man was walking northbound on Lucknow Avenue when a 2012 Ford Edge struck him.
 
The driver of the Ford, 51-year-old Randy Aspillaga of Red Bluff, drove home because he thought he hit a deer in the northbound lane. He later found out through social media that he might have hit a person. He called 911 and was interviewed at his residence.
 
The victim, whose name was withheld at this time, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police did not rule out alcohol or drugs as a factor in the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
