Coroner Identifies Passenger Killed in Suspected DUI Crash at Menifee Bridge

 
MENIFEE, CA (October 13, 2021)Hannah Marie Mesa was killed in a suspected DUI accident on 215 Freeway in Menifee early Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 1:40 a.m. on October 10, just south of Nuevo Road. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, Mesa was a passenger in a sedan traveling southbound on the freeway.
 
For unknown reasons, the driver failed to negotiate a curve and skidded into the dirt median. The car then overturned and crashed into a concrete bridge.
 
As a result, Mesa sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 29-year-old Menifee resident.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics took the driver to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley with serious injuries.
 
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. However, the crash remains under investigation. Authorities asked anyone with further information to contact the CHP’s Riverside office at 951-637-8000.
