Modesto Three-Car Crash Kills Driver Andrew Avalos

 
MODESTO, CA (October 11, 2021) – Andrew Avalos was killed in a three-car accident in Modesto early Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 4:00 a.m. on October 7, on Kiernan Avenue at Tully Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda sedan was traveling westbound when it slowed for a red light at the intersection. Behind the Honda was a 1973 Datsun coupe driven by Avalos, who failed to slow down in time.
 
Avalos, a 25-year-old Ceres resident, then rear-ended the Honda. About a minute after the initial crash, another westbound vehicle also failed to stop in time and hit the back of the Datsun.
 
The impact caused Avalos severe injuries. Paramedics took him to Doctors Medical Center, where he later died, according to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.
 
Meanwhile, the other two drivers were unharmed.
 
The cause and factors involved in the crash remain under investigation.
