Coroner Identifies Motorcyclist Killed in Santa Ynez Crash

 
SANTA YNEZ, CA (September 24, 2021)Frank Butcher was killed in a motorcycle accident in Santa Ynez Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 10:48 a.m. on September 23, in the 4800 block of Baseline Avenue. According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, 74-year-old Alan W. Jones of Santa Ynez was driving a 2021 Honda when he made a left turn into a private driveway directly into the path of a 2021 BMW motorcycle, ejecting Butcher.
 
Butcher was in cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived. He died at the scene. He was a 70-year-old Santa Barbara resident, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau.
 
Meanwhile, Jones was not injured.
 
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash, which is under investigation.
