Fiery Accident Involving Semi Truck on 205 Freeway in Tracy Turns Deadly

 
TRACY, CA (September 22, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a fiery accident on 205 Freeway in Tracy Monday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:03 p.m. on September 20, on the eastbound freeway at the North Tracy Boulevard off-ramp. CHP officials said a small white Jeep hit the rear of the semi tractor trailer that was parked on the right shoulder. The impact caused the Jeep to burst into flames.
 
When officers arrived, they located the Jeep on the off-ramp facing the wrong way and two other vehicles in the center divider.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, at least one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
An initial report indicated that the semi truck was disabled on the freeway prior to the crash.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
