Driver Hugh Williams Dies in La Presa Head-On Car Accident

 
LA PRESA, CA (September 15, 2021) — A driver died in a head-on accident on Jamacha Boulevard near San Diego Street Monday night, August 30.
 
Police identified the victim as 53-year-old Hugh Bernard Williams of Vista.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-car crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Williams drove westbound in a Nissan Versa. Just before San Diego Street, he swerved into the eastbound lane. As a result, the Nissan collided with an eastbound Toyota Corolla, causing it to spin out and hit a parked Honda Accord.
 
Due to the force of the impact, Williams ejected onto the road from the vehicle. Responding officials declared him dead at the scene upon arrival.
 
Following the accident, paramedics transported the 63-year-old San Diego man driving the Toyota to Scripps Mercy Hospital with major injuries.
 
At this time, whether a DUI played a factor in the accident has not been confirmed. However, if anyone has information as to what drove the accident, please contact the CHP.
