Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Pedestrian Accident on East South Bear Creek Drive in Merced

 
MERCED, CA (August 17, 2021) – A man sustained head injuries in a hit-and-run accident in the 600 block of East South Bear Creek Drive on August 11.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 6th Avenue at approximately 9:15 PM.
 
Based on reports, police found the 61-year-old pedestrian in the roadway conscious and breathing. Prior to that, witnesses reported seeing an older gray sedan hit the victim. Then, the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
 
As a result, the victim sustained injuries in the incident. Riggs Ambulance Service personnel responded and took the victim to Mercy Medical Center Merced for treatment.
 
At this point, the Merced Police is still investigating this accident on East South Bear Creek Drive. In addition, no other details are available.
