Jeffrey Bowen Dies after Bicycle and Pickup Collide in Jurupa Valley

 
JURUPA VALLEY, CA (August 18, 2021) – A bicyclist was killed in a traffic accident on Limonite Avenue in Jurupa Valley Sunday morning, August 15.
 
The victim was identified as Eastvale resident 69-year-old Jeffrey Bowen, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.
 
The accident happened around 10:20 a.m. on Limonite Avenue near Etiwanda Avenue. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Bowen rode a black motorized bicycle when he made an abrupt U-turn. After that, the bike and a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck crashed.
 
As a result, Bowen suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The driver of the pickup truck was unharmed. He stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
At this time, the crash remains under investigation. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a contributing factor.
