Head-On Accident on Avenue 15 in Madera Kills 1 Driver and Badly Injures Another

 
MADERA, CA (July 28, 2021) – A woman was killed in head-on accident on Avenue 15 in Madera Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 9:15 p.m. on July 26, just east of Road 29. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman in her 20s was driving a Hyundai Elantra westbound on Avenue 15 in the eastbound lane. At the same time, a 41-year-old Madera man was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound.
 
The man attempted to swerve left to avoid the wrong-way driver, but unsuccessful. The two vehicles collided head-on.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The man sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
