Rider Dies after Struck by Car near 10th Street West in Lancaster

LANCASTER, CA (July 21, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident near 10th Street West and Avenue K on Monday evening.

The fatal accident happened around 9:36 p.m. on July 19. According to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, a male adult was driving a Buick northbound on 10th Street West, just south of Avenue K. He then made a left west turn and collided into a motorcyclist, who was riding southbound on 10th Street West.

The impact ejected the rider from his bike and he died at the scene. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office only described him as someone in his 60s. They withheld his identity pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Buick remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.

At this time, it is unknown if speed or intoxication was a factor.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the traffic investigators at Lancaster Sheriff’s Station by calling 661-948-8466.
