Late Evening Two-Car Accident at Cactus Avenue and Indian Street Leaves 1 Driver Dead

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (July 12, 2021) – One person was killed in a two-car accident at Cactus Avenue and Indian Street on July 6.
 
The accident happened around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday evening. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Nissan Versa was traveling eastbound on Cactus Avenue and entered the intersection on a green traffic signal. At the same time, a Tesla Model-S was heading northbound on Indian Street and ran a red light.
 
The Tesla then slammed into the Nissan’s passenger side. The impact caused the Nissan to roll over on its roof ejecting the driver. The Tesla spun off the roadway into a cinder-block wall.
 
First responders performed life-saving measures on the Nissan driver, who suffered severe injuries. However, the driver died at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
Three people in the Tesla sustained minor to moderate injuries.
 
CHP officials are still trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
