Pedestrian Killed in Accident on Rosecrans Street [Point Loma, CA]

Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Rosecrans Street near Hugo Street in Point Loma

 
POINT LOMA, CA (May 13, 2021) – A pedestrian died on May 11 following an accident on Rosecrans Street.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:45 p.m. A southbound vehicle attempted to cross Hugo Street on a green light. After that, the vehicle hit the pedestrian who was crossing inside of a marked crosswalk.
 
Firefighters arrived and located the pedestrian about 50 feet away from the scene of the collision. As per reports, the pedestrian later died at the scene.
 
Authorities did not release the identity and age of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the 21-year-old driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
San Diego police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
